Petroleum energy
There are many energies in the world industrial , like , wind energy , water energy and solar energy, during the industrial revolution of the late 1890 new energy sources were required to fuel the innovations constantly being made .thus to experiment with petroleum .
Petroleum or ( crude oil ) is a liquid fuel that is present in various location throughout the world . it has many uses , from the generation of electricity to the manufacture of medicines ,plastics , and other commercial items .
Petroleum is an oily , flammable liquid that occurs naturally in deposits , usually beneath the surface of the earth ; it is also called crude oil . it consists principally of a mixture of hydrocarbons , with traces of various nitrogenous and sulphurous compounds .
Fossil fuel , coal , oil and natural gas are a non –renewable source of energy . formed from plants and animals that lived up to 300 million years ago , fossil fuel are found in deposits beneath the earth . the fuels are burned to release the chemical energy that is stored within this resource .
Fossil fuels which include petroleum , coal and natural gas , provide most of energy that powers modern industrial society . the gasoline that flues our cars , the coal that powers many electrical plants , and the natural gas that heats our homes are all fossil fuels .
There are many different theories as to the origins of fossil fuels . the most widely accepted theory says that fossil fuels were formed when organic matter ( such as the remains of a plant or animal )was compressed under the earth , at very high pressure for very long time .
